Both teams played open Football from the start but the wind was playing havoc with the ball.
United gave away a free-kick just outside the area in the seventh minute. The kick was played into the centre where Luke Daley could not hold on, the ball dropping to Harry Rumsey who saw his shot hit the crossbar from six yards out.
Jack Banks went on a forward surge then for United, his shot being deflected for a corner which came to nothing.
Staines however kept the pressure on going forwards themselves earning a corner that was swung in by Charles Gerson and met by an unmarked Sam Bates but his header was too high to trouble Daley.
The Swans then took the lead on the half hour when a mix up at the back between Prosper Ezewuzie and Martino Seiami allowed Rumsey to round Daley and fire home.
Four minutes later United had a great chance to level when Carron Moses-Holmes was through on goal but fired straight at Swans keeper Charlie Hyam.
Two minutes before the break Staines and Rumsey netted a second as the prolific scorer held off two challenges before rounding Daley to score.
Five minutes after the break it was three as United's inexperienced side succumbed to a long ball over the top which saw Gerson run on to beat Daley.
Within sixty seconds Hayes & Yeading got one back as Troy Timothy raced onto a throughball before shifting past Hyam to reduce the arrears. Just four minutes later United reduced the arrears even further when a stray arm in the area saw United awarded a penalty. Timothy stepped up and coolly beat Hyam from twelve yards.
The game was now flowing from end to end as United looked for an equaliser while Staines looked to put the tie beyond doubt. Sadly for United it was the latter as the Swans substitute Erivaldo Felix twice beat Daley in the final minutes to give the result a rather lopsided look.
